The History of Sic Bo
Sic Bo is a dice game of Asian origin. In Chinese, Sic Bo literally means "dice pairs" or "two dice", and refers to the higher paying bets that one can win in this game. Even though the name means "dice pairs", the game is played with three six sided dice, and a variety of betting options are available. Sic Bo probably started like so many betting games; two people were sitting around wondering just exactly what they were going to do for the evening, and more importantly-how to make it a little dangerous and exciting! So, they fiddled around with some dice, decided on some rules, add a little betting excitement, and whoalla! That's probably a crude recipe for many games! Anyhow, even though Historians might disagree on the exact time and birth of Sic Bo, it has been very popular in Asia for a long time. Sic Bo is a relatively new addition to the casinos of Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
The basis of Sic Bo is very simple; you bet on the outcome of three rolled dice. The Sic Bo table consists of areas where you can place your bet on the outcome of the dice. The winning areas of the Sic Bo table light up. This glitzy, "winning lights" area is considered by many the biggest attraction to the game. Indeed, the lights are a lot of fun, too! Sic Bo is very similar to a popular English game known as Grand Hazard. You'll see that the game is also similar to Big Six in the manner of placing the bets and the odds.Learn the rule before you start playing Sic Bo.
